Multiplying Decimals

Page history last edited by Anonymous 1 yr ago

This is how you multiply decimals:

It is kind of like multplying whole numbers but not quite the same.

First you multiply the ones digit to the upper factor.

  4.7

x52>Then you multiply the tens digit to the upper factor .

     94

x2350 >After you do the multiplying you add the subtotals .

244.4 >If you count one place behind the decimal then you put the decimal one number to the end .

Hope you enjoy doing it and have fun!

Hey this is Buzz and this is how you multiply decimals:

Multiply decimals is the same as multiplying whole numbers but with a decimal.

Example: 3.7

                    * 15             Now its just like regular multiplucation.Carry the extra number on top.

             ------                     3

             185                        3.7

                                          x15

                                         ------

                                          185

                                        +370

                                         -----

                                          55.5

Have fun !!
